We are looking for a beach holiday,' stop the world I want to get off' type of break in February. We have never been to SA and the minimal jet lag seems a big draw. Nice beach, good weather, with great restaurants and a few extra distractions is all that is required. If not SA then all other suggestions gratefully received but should include VA route as I need the tier points!

Many thanks in advance.

I would suggest the Garden Route from Port Elizabeth to Capetown. About a seven hour drive total. Lots of beaches all along the coast.Take your pick. Stop off in Jeffrey's Bay, Wilderness Bay, Plattenburg Bay, Titsikama and Knysna. If you fancy a bit of whale watching make your last stop Hermanus before Capetown and the fine restaurants of Camps Bay. SA is absolutely Brilliant.

Regards
Bryan

Thank you - it's so much better to hear from people who have personal experience of a country.

I couldnt agree more.. garden route is incredible. The beaches are great - water is cold off camps bay though but its still stunning... Lots of reviews of restaurants on the web for capetown. Most say Baia in the waterfront is one of the best for seafood... Also lots of nice guesthouses in campsbay i would try - there is one called camps bay 101 which i believe is great - will hunt down a web site for it....
