Just to correct the BBC, it looks like all 134 people on board made it out alive.

Our news feed in at work is reporting at least 9 killed - very sad news regardless.

Yeah just coming up to speed on this, I thought for a minute we were going to get very lucky again, of course it does not help when the AP is reporting all 134 escaped.

So here is what I have so far

135 on board
9 dead
50 wounded

Hopefully not flying from Turkey? Sad to hear of fatalities, glad to hear that the majority survived. Hope that the disruption is minimal but since Schipol has 5 runways they can probably cope, and this was off field.

I am just really annoyed with the media over this, so many jumping to conclusions, death counts all over the place, people who have no idea wtf they are talking about giving the causes, just sad.

And yet you were correcting the BBC as if you knew WTF you were talking about!!!

A little hypocritical? At least the media have an excuse - they're just trying to sell newspapers, adverts and entertaining programmes! When have they ever let the truth get in the way of a good story?

Just had a look at the TK website. Very professionally handled for infornmation for what is such a distressful situation for all those involved. Having been involved in Emergency proceedures at airports for some time now clear concise information is vital.

Looking at some of the pictures on a.net of the crash (and some from a Dutch TV station of the cabin) this bird had a very hard landing. It is clear that something went straight up from the flight deck and has pierced the through the roof and there are some horrid stories about the flight deck crew being pinned in and tragically not surviving.

Very sad. Thoughts with all those effected. Not been a good month for air travel.
