It has been several years since I last visited and was just wondering what recent travellers prefer to take. I seem to recall USD was widley accepted.
Any advice greatly welcome

I never had a problem using USD, you'll get your change in Barbadian, but it's best to have a selection of both.

I never had any issues spending dollars there, though Mark would probably be the one to ask on this.

US Dollars for excusions or buying in larger stores etc but take local currency for small gift shops and the like. This usually works for all Carribean islands in my experience.

I'm yet to come across a shop, bar, restaurant or taxi driver in Barbados who won't gladly deprive you of USD. As MM says, you'll get your change in Barbados Dollars, so you'll generally end up with a mix of the two after a few days.
Hope you have a thoroughly enjoyable time, Iain. Still over two months stuck in grey, miserable Blighty for us I'm sorry to say...

Thank you one and all for the advise. USD it is then to start with.
It has been over 1 year since our last UC trip ( and indeed a holiday) on VS and the butterflies are starting to flutter just a little or maybe that is just indegestion.
Still to get my head around a T10T&WOL though. I am more a whisky and ginger man[:p]
