Singapore Airport question

I'm thinking of buying a return ticket to Sydney that takes me out on VS200 with use of CH in LHR and HK etc but coming back via SIN on VS7232/7322 on the A380. It means changing terminals when I get to SIN (Terminal 3 to Terminal 1 I think) but there is plenty of time. Does anyone know if this is a relatively easy process and if the luggage goes straight through or do you have to check in again for the last leg?

Thank you in advance for the help.

We flew into SIN with Emirates into T1 (I think) and had to transfer to T2 to connect with a Singapore Airlines flight to Penang. We didn't have to reclaim luggage which I was a little surprised at and just walked to the transfer desk to collect new boarding passes. They transferred the luggage for us.

It was a short monorail style ride between the two terminals and really was very quick and convenient compared with changing terminals in some airports. All signage is great and the airport is a haven of peace and tranquility compared to any other airport I have been to. Enjoy.

Thank you Lynnewob, it looks a great deal and now I know the transit will be OK I'm even happier.[y]

You can also stretch your leg and and walk from T3 to T1 and only takes between 5 and 10 minutes.

I flew with SIA to KUL a few weeks back via SIN with only a 50 minute transfer time, landed at terminal 3 and had to get to terminal 2.

Checked my bags through from LHR all the way to KUL(and LHR gave me boarding passes for both legs so no transfer desk)

When i booked it i was a bit aprehensive but the SIA agent told me that 50 mins ta SIN is ample! and if i missed the connection they would rebook me on the next available flight at no extra cost.

Landed on time, 2 mins from the arrival gate to the terminal monorail link, it runs every 2 mins and takes 2 mins between terminals. Arrived at T2 and had a 5 min walk to next gate.

All in all took from one plane to sitting on the next one a total of 13 mins! and when i landed at KUL my bags were off first [:D]

So i don't think you have anything to worry about at SIN.

One tip if flying on the A380 in Y try to get a seat upstairs, you board and get off with the business passnegers, and it's a quieter cabin.

Thank you Chumba, it does seem that Singapore has got the transit experience spot on.

I am flying Business so any seating advice would be gratefully received. At the moment I am booked in 15A.

Great news about the bags going straight through, don't fancy going through that twice!

I flew back from Australia recently in 15A - it is a great seat. The A380 Business Class experience is a really good one and you will enjoy it. I always enjoy having a Singapore Sling accompanied by their excellent satay. You can also reserve special Book the Cook meals in advance which are good especially if you enjoy more unusual asian dishes (details are on the SIA website). Have a great flight.

Fantastic news about the seat and very helpful - the menu looks great so I think I am all set up now!
