FC number change on VS Amex CC

Not sure if anyone can help but....
....I have a VS Amex card and my wife is a secondanry card holder. All the miles earned on it are credited to my FC account. Now, we are saving up for a reward flight and I will have the desired number of miles soon. She won't.
So, I was wondering how you change the FC number assigned to the card so that she gets the miles rather than me.
She currently has FC Ag and I am Au but when we book I will have slipped to Ag and she will have slipped to FC red (so I can't spend the miles on her account - I think(!) as combined we would have enough miles for the 2 reward tickets. Me with more and her with less).

You can only have the miles credited to in to the flying club account of the main card holder, so you will not be able to get them credited to your wife's FC account.
You can of course book her a reward flight from your miles anyway, so it shouldn't really matter which account they go in to.
You can use miles from 2 accounts to book one reward, as long as they are in 'reward claimable amounts'. By that I mean, if you want to book a UC reward flight, so 100k round trip, you can take 50k from your account and 50k from another account, as it can be split in to two one way rewards, you couldn't take 40k and 60k though for instance.

Thanks Neil.
We were looking at booking 2 Y rewards to CPT so, unless there is a sale (which there has been previously on CPT rewards), I might be a bit stuck as I will have about 70k miles and my wife about 40k miles. I suppose the only other option is to buy miles or buy lots of wine using her FC account number!!

The best option would be to buy 5k miles, then use 50k from your account for a full reward and then 25k from each account for another reward. Another option of course is to look at the cost of buying an L fare economy fare and then use 20k for a companion ticket.

I reckon I might be able to squeeze upto 75k miles by the time we book so may not need to but the extra.
I didn't realise you could interchange miles between accounts on rewards - so effectively I am buying myself a Y reward return and my wife a Y single and she is buying herself her the other single needed? Can this be done in the same transaction so that the booking refs are all the same (so pre-allocating seats etc is easier)?

Yep, that is exactly correct! Rewards can be split in to singles, so it enables you to use miles from both accounts (you need to make sure you are an authorised user on her account to do this though, a quick call to FC by her will sort this if not already done.
Unlikely, I am pretty certain they will issue separate booking ref's. I have done something similar recently and many times in the past and have always got 2 bookings refs for me an t'other half, but to be honest it hasn't caused us any problems getting the seats we want.
