Ryanair 1 flights // Airline credit card fees

Ryanair are doing their 1 flights to a range of destinations, throughout July and August, so clearly they are struggling to fill their planes.

I found a great way to avoid some airlines horrendous credit and debit card fees (Ryanair is currently 5 per person per flight, FlyBE charges credit card fee AND booking fee) if you don't already have a Visa Electron card (currently no fee applies for payments this way).

http://www.entropay.com does a prepaid Electron card.
You top it up with 10, for a fee of 50p. (4.95%). They then generate an online card and number, which you then use to pay for a flight. Naturally, 4.95% becomes significantly higher if you are topping up more, and in this instance the best thing to do is to get a Visa Electron card from the Post Office or with certain bank accounts.

1 flight?

Don't you mean 1 for flight, plus taxes, random charges including toilet usage, checked baggage, using stairs to enter and exit, seating fee, carpet wearing, looking-at-staff-in-funny-way charge and the O'Leary I-can-charge-for-anything-else-I-like surcharge?

Grand total 153.98, plus credit card fee and premium rate call to Timbuktu to pay it.

No not those ones! The 1 including taxes, check-in fee, toilet use free-as-that-was-just-a-way-to-get-acres-of-media-coverage and a carry on bag. ONE bag mind. Just one.

But you still have to fly with Ryanair - think I'll give it a miss.

There is proabaly 1 per flight. MOL will do anything for publicity, there is no such thing as bad publicity.

Heaps of availability. Ryanair currently can't give them away, which is fine for me.

I've taken a couple of Ryanair flights costing me exactly 0.00. Yup! That's right. Nothing! Nada! Zilch! No credit card charge. No baggage charge. No going to the toilet charge. This had been a 1 million free seats promotion. I hadn't intended to take advantage of it but two hours before it was due to end it showed which flights still had seats available (and no, Richard, it wasn't 1 per flight). Suddenly a trip to my niece in Dublin became a necessity! It was just fine and for a flight of 25 minutes one can easily close one's ears to the aggressive marketing on board.
