Table Bay Hotel Cape Town

Anybody stayed here recently? If so is it good, bad, indifferent? I'm looking to take DL the Elder away on a trip sometime towards the end of the year, and whilst she's quite happy to sit in economy [:0] she does expect a half decent hotel bed on which to rest her weary head (and arthritic back).
Thanks
DL

Stayed at the Table Bay a good few yrs back, 2001. fantastic location, usual mod cons for hotel of this calibre.

you're right on the Waterfront development, even interconnects into the malls internally. Also the harbour frontage which is perfect for walkable dining options after dark. hotel is pricey for food, but given the fantastic choice on the door step - not an issue.

Try for a room facing the mountain, makes for a dramatic backdrop. Rooms nice, turn down service very good etc etc.

Also to consider- The Victoria & Albert, and the Cape Grace although the latter didn't appeal. The Cullinan in towards town, was o.k. especially for breakfast buffets (appeared to be a CC choice at the time), but not a patch on the Table Bay
