Liquids through security

Mention has been made in some trip reports about people still not being aware of the liquids rule. Here's the latest evidence from DUB [?]

It really is amazing how people can not be aware of the rules.

With the way that any confiscated goods are dealt with, there must be some pretty nice hampers being sent out.

Would be interesting to know what LHR/LGW/MAN do with their hauls...

Do they really not know or just think they will get away with it?

Due to the volume of the confiscated items its all just dumped - they dont have the time or the staff to sort it out into the good stuff and the crap or to store it for charities to come and so that themselves.

Storing the stuff is a security issue in itself.

Perhaps a few adverts showing confiscated bottles etc being smashed might get the message through ... or someone from 'Enders having something taken off them ...

I think they don't know. It's the incredulous look on their faces that gets me, they react as if the rule was only introduced five minutes ago. Literally.

But I think some just have a momentary lapse, like packing the family tube of toothpaste without thinking.

I must admit to the occasional lapse - but its only discovered after my flight!
