Transfers at Sydney

VS200 arrives 7.30'ish morning at Sydney. I beleive transfer times at about 20 mins to downtown. However given the time (rush hour) debating options.

Given luggage & mini NH we'll need car, as bus/ train options not viable.

Are the taxi ranks stacked with queues and given time of morning, the basic estimates seen for $35AUD likely to rack up more due to traffic. Hotel provision nearer $90AUD but fixed rate.

Anyone had experience of this?

Taxi rank is just outside arrivals, snake queue is covered by a bus shelter structure, taxis are frequent and the queue is fast moving.

Bear in mind that a pre-booked transfer gives you the option of a car
seat for mini NH.

I second Jaguarpig and have never had a problem with the taxi service - there are also a number of very efficient local minibus services you can pre-book to drop you off at the hotel that work out cheaper.

Mike you'll be so knackered that $35 + bucks for a cab will seem an absolute steal.Lots of cabs (and fast moving queue) as Jacki and jp have said.Don't bother with the hotel car rate. There are also lots of people carrier type taxis if you have lots of luggage.
