Hi all -
I am looking for some recommendations for hotel accommodations in London for June.
Looking for something under 250 GBP / night that is located close to transportation or most tourist attractions.
Would prefer something that caters more to young travelers than to families ...

I would recommend the following;
Marriot Grosvenor House, Hilton Park Lane, or Intercontinental Park Lane, all situated on Park Lane opposite Hyde Park.
or
The Hilton Waldorf which is situated just of the strand which is near to a lot of theatre's.
All of the above are top London hotels.
I believe that you can get deals on all of these from around £200 prpn but can be much higher.
Hope this helps...

My favoured hotel in London (yes, I know I come from London!) is
Hilton Tower BridgeIt is a relatively new Hilton and is "boutique" in style. Just down from London Bridge Station which gives good transport links.
This part of the South Bank has seen much renovation in recent times and there are plenty of good restaurants nearby if you want to stay away from the West end.
Whenever Mrs buns & I have to stay up in town, we always use this place - especially after enduring the Royal Scot Travelodge v( v(

I'd support buns's recommendation of the Hilton Tower Bridge. Nice hotel and nice location

Another vote for the Hilton Tower Bridge. Well located, nice modern hotel, well priced, ticks all the boxes fo when we stay in London. It also is close to some good places to eat and have a drink.

Thanks all! This will be my first trip back to London in 10 years :0 so I appreciate all your insights.
Let me know if there are any can't miss sights/restaurants/etc. that you would recommend.

Have a look at the rates at the Dean Street Townhouse. Rooms aren't big (in fact one of their classifications is "tiny") but they are wonderfully well equipped, have Cowshed toiletries, you are in the middle of Soho (close to Tottenham Court Rd, Leicester Sq, Oxford St) and close to theatreland and it is very, very cool (as I believe young people say).
Otherwise I'd support the Hilton Tower Bridge, for if it's near London Bridge then you are close to Borough Market which is pretty much food paradise. One of my favourite places to eat in London is Wahaca in Covent Garden - mexican market food. Leon for fast food (I think there's one on The Strand) and there's a great little cafe in Embankment Gardens.
Sights...The London Eye (if you've not one it) and a wander down the South Bank taking in the Tate Modern (exhibitions are variable but the space is amazing), the Millenium Bridge and St Pauls, the Globe and then Southwark.

Not been here for Ten years? so you will have the still 'new'
Tate Modern on the South Bank and the (no longer) wobbly bridge.
Great Court at the British Museum (and some refurbished Galleries)
the V&A has many upgraded galleries that have met with acclaim from those who are supposed to know about these things.
Ditto the National and National Portrait Galleries
Go and see the o2 (millenium dome as was) don't have to see a show or anything but it is an amazing structure
