new ash cloud rules

If I understand this correctly and if these rules are ratified by governments then if you are not within 120 miles of seeing the plume - you're safe.

This whole issue still baffles me. It's not as if its the first volcano ever to have erupted is it??

Even if Europe isn't too used to this scenario, there are plenty of areas which see this and a lot worse on a regular basis - so what is the norm for these areas? Reminder to all - "It's good to talk..." ii)

Regardless - it looks as if learning from others is finally filtering through and hopefully agreement on a safe and sensible no-fly zone can be implemented which does not cause, in future, the disruption we have seen to date.

Selfishly - Here's preying that the gods are looking favourably down on us for Sunday :)

In case you've not seen it yet - here's a pretty cool video of the volcano. http://vimeo.com/11673745
