European Rail access

I have a friend that wants to travel around Europe by rail.

It looks like he will be going London to Paris to Amsterdam to Hamburg or Berlin to Copenhagen to Stockholm.

Any ideas of the best way to do this ?

There are a range of rail passes (not always age dependent) they could look into but by some savvy booking there are some seperate deals.

rail europe is a good site too.

I think they need to get into Europe first. Eurostar will do that, then the price of rail travel will drop significantly.

They can buy a Eurail pass, prices change depending on stay length, etc. http://www.europeanrailguide.com/railpasses/

I do love the Swiss and German rail systems, they are just so efficient.

I agree - the German ICE train is just fantastic.

DB Bahn have a free iPhone app that will give you most European train timetables which is invaluable.
