Extra fees on US airlines - a comparison table.

This article in USA Today gives an excellent breakdown on the extra fees charged by US airlines for reservations, bags, ticket changes, seat selection, ticket changes and the myriad of extras that passengers face now.

Unfortunately, some airlines - including Virgin America - are not included, but it will give an idea of what extra costs are involved for those flying internally in the US.

I smiled when I read the article and in particular the sources bit at the bottom of the article as it sounded exactly like an audit a close friend of mine in Seattle did for the Government Audit Office. He commented at the time that Virgin America and one other airline (can't remember which) had failed to respond.

I sent him the link and he confirmed that it was like his and his co-worker's table of fees. I have links to the report if anyone is interested and although these particular tables have not been included in the report there are some sample tables of domestic checked baggage fees and other airline imposed fees
