Manchester Airport body scanners in all three terminals

Will be in operation at all security ares by end Oct 2010

Though this is interesting
Not every passenger has to go through the body scanners. At first they go through a "Smartgate" which acts like a metal detector.


So an even bigger incentive to clear your pockets of keys, change etc etc

Well, if they're used anything the same as in the US, there's no real advantage to passengers at all - it was no quicker (and if anything took longer as pax couldn't seem to stand correctly inside the damn things).

Avoid like the plague.

Thats the point - there is no avoding them - refuse to use and you don't fly.

Well, at Las Vegas they were only operating on some of the lines, not all.

Will they get deployed to every security line in the UK? I doubt it somehow.
