Hi, going to Tokyo for the first week of June with my wife. Looking for things to do. Bullet train and Shinjuku are on the list for sure and have a few others in mind, but would like any other suggestions ? Good Bar's Nightclub's etc.........

Also I heard or saw that VA were running a chopper service from NRT to the city centre, but don't see it on the web site, anyone know the details ?

Thanks in advance for your help.

As daft as it sounds...Go to Kyoto for couple of nights.
2hr trip on the Bullet train from Tokyo station, so ticks that box, you travel past Mt Fuji and highly recommend as complete contrast to Tokyo and would suggest this as a must.
I think its more of whats not to do in Tokyo especially in height of summer:
Harajuku
Shibua
Shinjuku - good place to stay
Roppongi
Park Hyatt Bar
Fish Market
Amazing food everywhere

The list goes on. Think all of us who've been/are there love the place (it empties your wallet quickly mindyou), no doubt Tink and HL will be quick onto this topic.. :w

The transfer into Tokyo on the NEX train is by fair the easiest and best (really modern, big spacious trains), unless you feel the need to spend VAST £ and have an urgent deadline assume helicopter could be done, assume its just something that VS could arrange if required like anywhere.. ?|

Traveling the subways is part of japanese life and an experience not to miss- all very safe/clean and you'll struggle to find a more polite place.

Mrs NH is there now, so you've a few more weeks if you want anything specific finding out :o)

The VS helicopter is on this page on the VS website about 1/2 way down the page.

You can book it if you are on a non G or Z ticket (i.e. if yout ticket qualifies you for a CDC)

The fish market are clamping down a bit on tourists visiting, I think you can only attend now from 5am - it is still well worth it though.

I love getting panoramic views of a city, so the Tokyo tower, is fantastic for that. Alternatives would be the Mori Tower in Roppongi hills, or go to the 40th floor of the Prince Akasaka hotel for cocktails at sunset - if the weather ir good you can see Mount Fuji perfectly from there.
