Page 14 of today's Times; best looking PE product I've ever seen.
Hopefully this may cause VAA to raise its game to compete? Looks almost like an UCS seat... y) Depending on pricing, it should knock the socks of VAA's product.

From what I have seen, pretty much, between the seat, food, IFE and service ANZ has the best there is. I will certainly be looking at ANZ for future flights.

I'd still like to see what it looks like in the reclined position.

Actually, now that I watch this again, the inside seats look good, the outside seats I see a number of issues with, the sliding seat base could really make life difficult for people sitting in the windows seats, getting out while the person in the aisle seat is sleeping does not appear to be easy.

"The seat slides forward, just like your favourite armchair at home" - sheesh, only in DFS land!
OK, it's going to look fab in the front row with seats taken out in front of the camera, of course there are no shots in a row behind the front one so you can really see ... and it's only on the 777s (not sure when their 747s are being replaced with 777s to the UK) - BUT, NZ do have an increasingly fantastic product on board, they are for sure setting the standard. Having been on NZ biz I can attest it really is good.
Now, VS is either completely schtum or there's nothing new in the foreseeable future, and I'm not sure whether VS really does need to do anything, PE is very good (albeit also on occasion VERY pricey).

NZ have a 777 that goes out to AKL via HKG every night from LHR.
The 744 goes to AKL daily via LAX.

The rest of Rico's adverts are great - especially the bloopers y)
( and just to keep on topic

- wonder what colour the seat and its pod will end up after a few flights)

Until June I think, then NZ1,2 switch to 777 as well.

And we have to remember that the guy responsible for this development is Ed Sims - he used to work for VS!

They have an interesting 'economy' option which looks like you can essentially book 3 economy seats which convert into a flat bed. Its expeeeeeeensive though!

Yes, the economy Sky Coach.
Don't know about pricing; depends on demand I suppose.

It does "look" amazing, but does also look very cramped between rows, like they have put in as many rows as possible.
Also the "table/arm rest/extra bit of seat" bit in the middle 2 chairs seems like a lot of faff and the CC seemed to struggle, also wonder how long till it breaks?
Sort of on topic... the new posters showing off this PE seat, there is an extra hand! Can't find a photo of one online to show you all but I'm sure there was.

You might look at the reviews of the PE seat on Flyertalk's ANZ forum ... some people really like it, some people hate it. ?|

Some interesting, and not so positive reviews of NZ's new cabin:
EconomyPremium EconomyBusiness PremierBased on this, my view of NZ as an option other than in the front has gone down somewhat.

Very interesting.....has changed my view slightly! Think i'd prefer to book a seat up the front, then explore PE and Y to see it for myself to decide.
Thanks for posting Slinky.
