Travel City Direct for Orlando?

Might be a naive question, but has anyone got any experience of, or pros and cons of TCD?

In terms of vanilla Disneyworld holidays, they appear very competitive in terms of price, and use VS (in fact, aren't they owned by VH or something)?

Anyway, compared to VH, and compared to DIY, they have very, very good prices.

Given that you're getting the protection wrappers of a tour operator, is there anything else I should know about these guys?

Hello,

A couple of close friends of mine used them last year, they are part of the VH group but oddly do price on BA flights if they are cheapest! However, most of the time VS flights show as they are the cheapest.

For a like for like trip to Disney, TCD came out £200 cheaper for Jan 2012 when we were looking at options for next year, that was staying in a Disney hotel too.

My friends said they were good, clearly VH is better but the ground staff upon welcome and reps in welcome meeting were just as good as VH.

Yeh VH acquired them off the administrators of the XL Group, which TCD were a part of.

A very clever move really as they have helped to put extra bums on seats on the MCO routes, in particular with the increase in popularity with the GLA route.

I would imagine you will find that really you will get the exact same service as VH people. IIRC at MCO all VH signs are also equpied with TCD logo and there is clearly joint operations going on. And rightly so would be a waste of money to have two sets of welcome staff at the airport etc etc.

In order for VH to keep the TCD brand competitive you will find that TCD offer a very limited choice of hotel /motel compared to VH & you will only be able to book for 14 days IIRC.

Nothing wrong with that if you are on a tight budget.

Yes, TCD have limited options, but if it's want you want, then it seems to me cheaper than VH and pretty much the experience.

Thanks for the responses!
