I've been trying to find direct flights from London (LGW or LHR) to Liverpool; anyone know if such a thing actually exists? I can't seem to find anything direct from the south (near me at J9 of M25) to Liverpool...?

Thanks.

I think that's not possible.
Maybe LHR to MAN then train from MAN (diect aiport link) to Liverpool Lime Street might be your best bet if you must fly.

Otherwise train from Euston to Lime Stree might work?

Cheers
Paul

Probably easier to get train, change at Vauxhal or Victoria, Vic line to Euston then train from there to Liverpool. Not exactly quick though.

SOU has a service up to LPL on Eastern. My sister has used it once back to university but its pricey. She normally gets BE up to MAN then gets the train.

I think the Eastern service from SOU is your nearest direct LPL service. 1hour 15 from Waterloo to SOU.

I knew someone would beat me to suggesting that.

Yep, British Midland canned the route about 10 years ago, maybe a little more, when they joined *A and were told they needed to provide better connections into Europe, slot got re-purposed in favor of Linate or Naples, one of the two, which you can sort of understand :)

Except that didn't last too long either. Ah well ...

Used to do PSA-LHR-LPL on BA and BM, can't imagine what that would have cost in today's money.

Easyjet used to fly LPL to LGW, I used to use this all the time and then got the Greenline bus into Victoria. But the route got pulled maybe seven years ago.

I also use to use VLM from LPL to LCY, which has also gone.

The train from Euston to Liverpool Lime Street only takes just over 2 hours now, but from around Leatherhead you've a trek before you can connect to that. Probably no worse though than backtracking an hour and a half to Southampton, or flying to MAN and then getting to Liverpool.
