JFK Transfer Time

Hi all

Am planning to attend a conference in Chicago in early November and currently looking at flight options which involve VS. The main option looks to be through JFK coming off VS3 which lands at 1.20pm with a connecting JetBlue flight departing at 3.45pm.

Will there be enough time to go through immigration, collect bags, transfer terminals, etc..?

Thanks in advance

Jonathan

Plenty, I made a 4 pm flight at La Guardia two weeks ago, and the VS3 was an hour late landing!

the un known factor is immigration. our last trip into NY it took us 3 hours (VS045) but people have done it in less than 1.

if you tell the VS CC you have a connection beleive they try and help you get off the plane early and give you a pass to go through a different line

from T4 to T5 takes 10-15 mins

also not sure but dont VS and JB have soe deal going on now so you can check bags straight through ?

If it was the VS45 I'd have said "no way" but things are quieter when the VS3 lands, if on time.

Yes, Jet Blue and VS have an interline agreement, but usually only if you booked on one itinerary. Worth asking though at check in!

I have to concur - a few weeks back it too us an hour to get through Immigration, but there did seem to be a process in place to help interlining

Well I've booked the flights - here's hoping no hiccups occur!

I did that exact route in May and had no trouble.

All I would say, is don't dawdle getting to the JetBlue terminal as the lines for security can be long.

The immigration hall at JFK when VS3 arrived was totally empty.
