KLM help

Hi there,

My colleague at work has booked with KLM to Cape Town.

He booked via Expedia and the confirmation showed the names like this:

PAUL BOOKER
MARY BOOKER
DANIEL BOOKER

When he logged in to KLM to add his "Advance Passenger Data" it showed as

PAUL ANDREW BOOKER
MARY JANE BOOKER
DANIEL MATTHE BOOKER - of course, this should be "Matthew".

He doesn't think he mistyped but of course it is a possibility.

Should he call KLM and alert them to this and incur possible charges, or just go to the airport? All the first names and surnames are correct btw.

Thanks for your help.

I stand to be corrected, but recall previous posters confirming that a one letter error does not present a problem.

I have eight different possible "accepted" ways of writing out my name, due to a variety of reasons, and only one of them shows up in my passport. I have never had any issue at all with this (which does in fact make me wonder, but whatever) ... so I would expect your colleague to be safe as-is.

Airline IT systems will often truncate your name anyway beyond a certain number of characters, so for all we know that may be what happened here. No harm in calling, of course, but I would be surprised if this were to be an issue at all.
