Well the VS fuel surcharge will still be more than the APD.

Indeed and also not generally refunded if you cancel - unlike APD and Airport fees

A bit disingenuous to say in the article

"APD has no international parallel ...


when many other contries have various passenger taxes.

Germany recently introduced an 'ecological departure tax', the USA has a 'transportation tax' and many countries have 'departure taxes'

How are they different from APD?
