I'm sorry....flying Charter

Solely due to cost, my next trip to BGI will be in economy on a Thomson charter flight rather than Virgin, but saving over £200. Has anyone travelled Thomson long haul economy (is it ok), and any tips on Birmingham airport? cheers

Birmingham airport is okay - not too big.

Are Thomson offering "premium seats"? These are better than the economy and sometimes are not too dear.

Why apologise?

It's your money, and your choice!

Like others, would be very interested in reading a TR...

Enjoy paradise!

Will be there in 7 months(ish), and already looking forward to it!

When are you going? What resort?

Flown Thomson in economy from BHX to SFB a few years ago and it was cramped but ok and for a saving of £200 it'll be well worth it!

Have flown Thompson twice LGW-GOA and was really quite impressed, did pay the extra £250 for the premium seats and worth every penny. Don't forget they will be getting the 787 this year so not sure when you are going but fingers crossed you may get a chance to sample the new metal http://dreamliner.thomson.co.uk/

BHX is my local airport, it's adequate, but don't expect much variety. Not sure about lounges, but the departure lounge has a few average places to eat, a couple of pubs and about 5 duty free shops.

Priority pass will get you into the 4deck, flybe and serviceair lounges in BHX. Not been there for years, but apparently its all one terminal now.

Whats the IFE like on thompson. I might consider one of their caribbean flights, with the bigger seats of course...

Its not V-Port but had at least 16/20 movies, games and TV and was an on-demand system so was great. :)

yes, the 787.

East Midlands to Sanford would be a nice flight and very handy for exploring St Augustine and environs.

Paul, I think your TR will be an interesting take on the current charter offering especially given they are stepping up to the plate against the likes of VS. enjoy your trip!
