Hi

We are looking at staying at the renaissance Hollywood hotel and have seen a offer if you are a member of AAA, does anyone know if you are a member of the UK AA if you can use this rate?

Thanks in advance

Sharon

I'm a AAA member, I'm pretty sure that the AA carries no weight in this regard and aren't in anyway associated.

Doubt the rules allow you to use the rate. I've used the AAA rate (I'm an AAA member) but never asked for the card, ever. I don't carry my card - it's in my car that is 612 miles from my house.

(I'm on a family/household rate for my AAA membership.)

As an AA member, you can use your card to get AAA discount in the US.

If you look at the back of your membership card at the bottom right is a small 'show your card' symbol.

I must concede I have never bothered and I can't see any reference to it on the AA website.

I use other discounts with Marriott (Renaissance) - it may be worth you joining Membership Rewards at Marriott (it's free) and then try the M11 code.

There are many others, the Marriott pages on Flyertalk carry a sticky with lots of codes for public use.

As Nick says, yes.

savings discounts of the American and the Canadian Automobile Associations (AAA and CAA) extend to UK AA breakdown members

Hi sharon,
Sorry cant assist with your question, but thought I'd say we stayed at the Renaissance Hotel in 2011. I'd booked at a certain rate and each time the room rate dropped, they honoured the new room charge. It was a very nice hotel, really central to everything and entrances come out straight onto either the Boulevard or into the dining/shopping complex.

So was easy to travel around from the area because it was so central. We planning to go back next year :)

Thanks for all your advice, had a look on the aaa website last night and I thought we could have this rate,

Nick I am a Marriott reward member but no deals when we go in July , 2 years ago we got a fantastic deal including valet parking, Internet and breakfast. The aaa deal includes it all.

Hev60 - we also have stayed here back in 2010, good location for us as well

Rates are higher this year, occupancy definitely on the rise. You can occasionally still find good rates here and there, July will be tough especially the first part of the month. I locked my rate for a vac trip to a different location six months ago, and the rates have done nothing but go up ever since.
