Olympic bid 747 collectable information

Hi, after some help please.
Back in 2005 when we were bidding for the Olympics i spotted a potential investment. I was contacted by Virgin asking if i wanted to purchase a model of the Olympic bid 747 Jumbo jet they had the Olympic logo painted on the plane, comes in a presentation box. I purchased it as it there were only 1000 made. Have kept it all these years unopened, even in the original postal packing it came in. Have also the original paperwork that came with it also.
Now wishing to realise my investment i have tried to find details of the advertisement so i can post pics and try to find a rough valuation but cannot find anything. The paperwork that came with it gives the following info.

Description VAA MA Olympic Bid B747-400
Old item code 22179
As it is still sealed in the box i do not want to open and build it as i feel this will devalue. I normally keep these items but as my normal collections are cricket and beer glasses i feel someone could get more enjoyment than me keeping in a box. Any help with info or pics would be gratefully appreciated.
