Landside transfer T5 to T4

Just wondering, as it is a couple of years since I did the transfer, is the Hex to Connect (via Heathrow Central)transfer facility between T5 and T4 still a valid and free route?

Or can I use the Underground changing at Central free as I have an Oyster card? I only ask as the Heathrow Airport site only lists a bus service as a transfer route between the terminals...

Thanks

Yes, you can still use the free HEX transfer between T5/T4/Central at LHR :)

To get to/from T4/T5 you just change trains at the central station.

Thanks James! y)

I was going to ask the followup question of getting from T4 to T3 but then that would have made me sound like the Vodafone Call Centre operative I've just spoken to ... :) :w

No worries. It's only a short walk from the central HEX station to T3.

Just to add, if you have your Oyster on you at the time, the tube is a free option from T5 to T1/2/3. But to go on tube to T4, you would have to go to Hatton Cross to change, still free but will probably take longer than HEX. T4 to T1/2/3 on tube is just as easy as the HEX.

The Piccadilly line trains run more frequently than the HEX as well.

Thanks for the tips, guys.

I remember using the tube to get back to T3 from T4 last time and using the Hex / Connect route to get to T4 from T5 but as the Heathrow Airport site doesn't mention that you can use it like that....

I'm there fairly late at night so want to the trip in the smoothest way possible.

Now for Vodafone which is another kettle of fish.... :w
