Just read this on Travel Daily UK.

Sandals Resorts has acquired LaSource on the island of Grenada.

The resort will be renamed Sandals LaSource Grenada and will be the hotel group’s first to open on the island. LaSource had closed in mid-October due to financial difficulties.

“After looking to expand here for more than a decade, we are delighted to confirm the acquisition of our first ever resort in Grenada and are incredibly proud to have found the perfect location to add to our brand. We are eager to make our debut,” said Gordon ‘Butch’ Stewart, chairman of Sandals.

I stayed at LaSource years ago - my first ever long haul holiday. Flew there from Gatwick on a BA 747, economy seats in the bubble. I had a seat with no row in front of me, so legroom was not an issue at all.

Paid £299 ALL INCLUSIVE, including flights from Glasgow. (BA Breakaway - when they liked travel agents!) I wore a shirt and tie thinking that would get me an upgrade.

As a rookie traveller the whole experience was amazing.

Shame that LaSource had closed, now that it's Sandals I guess I'll never get to go back until I've met someone!
