Love how they send a notification that they themselves class as "Strictly confidential and private" and expect the receiver to be bound by it with no prior agreement.

Indeed. I used to read it but stopped - not because it scared me from flying (walking down the street is more dangerous) but because of some of the plain stupid comments and the vitriolic Boeing V Airbus and Rolls Royce V any other engine maker comments.

As to the legal action I see they just wanted the comments removed and then asked for the article to be taken down.

Hmmm - it's an excellent site, and the reporting is carried out with neutrality and due diligence.

I never did see the point of the reader comments section, perhaps time to remove it?

Mind you, if you look at other news sites (WSJ, NYT, Guardian etc), you'll see similar comment on various stories - I gues we're witnessing the turf-war that is web content.

I suppose by allowing such comments (or rather, not with-holding them), the AvHerald is held responsible - fair enough, I guesss.

I'd hate to see this website under threat though, it's an excellent source of lunchtime reading!
