Just shows how little I knew about airline economics

I was especially interested in the article as it mentions Southwest airlines. Have just booked a return fare from LAX -Tucson - the outward journey for $76 and the (same distance) return for $116.... more traffic going FROM LAX????

Very interesting to see how much each airline needs to break even per mile. Thanks for posting LovingGold
