The internet age! The age of dreams and opportunity and dot.com millionaires.

The internet is how old now? At least five. So what are the travel brands that you remember, that didn't make it?

How about this internet travel agent that was going to mark the end of the high street agent? (Actually, ALL internet travel start ups where going to end the high street travel agent)

Thomson launched this low cost brand years ago. And then forgot about it.

A great little company for Greece, who became part of doomed XL Group.

Er, er, er and er.

The epitome of the cheap and not always cheerful holiday.

Thomas Cook's unsuccessful relaunch as jmc years ago. I loved what they were trying to do, but what does "unwrapping the package holiday, piece by piece" mean?

Lol, creepy...

Economic meltdown a few years back. Shifted customer focus and lead people to lose faith and trust in the unknown and 'new'.. Saved parts of the high street in some ways.

MyTravel launches a low cost airline.

They weren't all start ups.

Along with Amsterdam Travel Service and Swiss Travel Service, probably the best city break operator. Bought by Airtours/MyTravel and er, closed down, Airtours assuming that sister company Cresta was the stronger brand.

EOS was a fantastic airline, I can't remember any other business class bed being as big since. Plus they went from stansted, and the FF scheme was a refreshingly simple £170 in John Lewis vouchers for every 2 flights taken. Happy days.

Also worth mentioning XL airways, I recall a very uncomfortable (but very cheap) flight with them to Grenada just before they folded. At least it was a bit more competition for VS and BA on the Caribbean routes.

My Travel Lite!!!! :0 v(

Thank god they they've gone - perhaps my worst ever flight experience, yes, even worse than Ryanair.

Would love to see them in that list too (as long as Little Red re-employed them all on an expanding domestic network!!)
