Seriously though - I can't see the Air Samoa pay-by-the-kilo concept happening here as the courts would rule it discriminatory.
But there'd be nothing to stop airlines charging extra for "extra width" seats, just as many already do for extra legroom.
Ironically VS currently charge extra for NARROWER seats - ie the exit rows which are slightly narrower than normal Y seats due to the need to stuff the table and IFE monitor into the armrest.

Would kill the all inclusive holiday where you can easily win a few kilos fir the retun trip.
