Japan Airlines refused to fly a 787 after a fault was discovered in the modified battery sensor.

...two small holes on the battery container, designed to prevent overheating, were mistakenly sealed by Boeing engineers..

Pay a premium not to fly on one? :o)

Not just one but two more issues with battery engineering in the last month.
It is not surprising that pilots express concern with Boeing.

Perhaps another occasion when wider issues need to be considered but they will probably just blame the engineer.

This wouldn't have been remotely near the news had it not been for the previous problems, this wasn't considered a safety issue by either JAL or Boeing but naturally the press is all over it. It's a good aircraft.
