Just want to get an idea of how good they may or may not be. Normally use Alamo but Thrifty are a fair bit cheaper this time.

I have used Thrifty all over the world (slight exaggeration) ;-) I have had niggly problems with them, as I have with Alamo, Dollar and Budget - I would put all these suppliers on a par - not perfect but generally okay Watch out for, the hard sell on the upgrades and make sure you know what coverage you have in case they try to sell you extras you don't need.

Thrifty is now found with all the other firms in the RCC (Rental Car Centre) at MIA so again there is nothing to differentiate them there - if they are cheapest I would use them unless you have fast track or other perks with Alamo

Thanks Nick,

Don't have any perks with Alamo so looks like Thrifty it is.

Try US Car Hire.
http://www.uscarhire.com/

We just booked with them for picking up at Orlando and dropping off in Miami over the Christmas and New Year period for later this year.

Much much cheaper than Virgin, BA, or directly with the major Car Hire company's in Florida.

They use Alamo and National.

With Alamo you can use the fast track option when collecting the car.

Free cancellation or/and amendments to the booking and only a small deposit to pay upfront.

Good luck.
