LAX Airport hotel?

Anyone any recommendations for a hotel at LAX? I'm flying in on BA's A380 and need somewhere to crash before I head off to Seattle the next day (LA doesn't really appeal to me).

Pondering the Marriott, as it has a shuttle and I have status.

TIA!

They're all fine :). If you've no need to pick up a car I'd stick with the Mariott if you have status with them .
I generally use the Sheraton 4 Points or Renaissance due to their close proximity to the car depots.
LA is fab :D :D .Give it a whirl. You might be surprised :)

Thanks DL. I think if I could drive I'd be tempted for a few days in LA, but everyone seems to suggest it helps to have a car.

Current plan is to VX it up to Seattle for a few days then down to San Fran and fly back from there.

We are staying at the Hilton in a couple of weeks, purely for the reason I have status with Hilton and earn FC miles. The rates for the main chains are pretty much identical, and I don't think any really offer anything more than the other.

It does but it's not impossible - if you're only there for a couple of days, decide what you most want to see and choose a hotel nearby.

Yes LA is a huge, sprawling place but most of the places you might want to see on a short trip (apart from Disneyland) are located around Hollywood, West Hollywood and Beverly Hills, on or around Santa Monica & Sunset Boulevards, so stay somewhere near there and you can either walk or take short bus/taxi rides.

Thanks all. Just noticed the Renaissance is a cat 5 so I can use my free night cert. I'm very indecisive when it comes to hotels!

I have stayed at the Marriott a couple of times and its ok. The last few times I have stayed at the LAX Hilton as I have status with them. The Hilton has a nice Executive lounge, open even at weekends, with a hearty breakfast buffet and evening snacks and desserts with an honor bar.

Both hotels, the Marriott and Hilton, have regular shuttles so go with what works for you.

We stayed at the Hilton a few years back, it's fairly bog standard for an airport hotel.

Our room did overlook 2 of the runway thresholds though, so quiet it wasn't!

I have also stayed at the Hilton LAX several times, and find it a horrid hotel. The corridors are dark and low ceilinged, the rooms OK, but the lobby is hideous and there are surprisingly few decent spaces for such a large hotel. You also often get very large conferences. I'd say if you have status and can access the lounge its passable.

More recently I stayed at the Sheraton and thought it much better.

I am a big fan of the Sheraton Gateway. Almost walking distance to the airport (but not a good idea) - good facilities, price, service etc.
All the local hotels have a shuttle bus (those that don't probably not worth staying at).
If it is only one night then I probably wouldn't bother much about status but go for convenience.

LA is fantastic.
If you are only there for one night, get a cab over to Santa Monica.
Enjoy.

It's worth staying at the Raddison just because of the roof top bar(I think it's called the Concorde bar), which is a plane spotters paradise.
Aorcraft appear to be taking off and landing all around you, it feels like your having a cocktail in the control tower.
Also they have sleepezy beds in the rooms, you can adjust the pressure of the mattress with the push of a button( you can tell I am easily pleased).
Hope you have a good trip wherever you decide to rest your head.
