Been getting prompts to download this to iPad, but there seems to be a lot in the news about problems. Anyone done this yet and if so, did it throw up any issues???

It will depend on your broadband speed ultimately, but shouldn't take too long.

I downloaded iOS7 onto my iPhone the day it was released and had a couple of failed download attempts, before getting a successful download. Guess this was because vast numbers of people were all trying to get the update on release day. The successful download took about 45mins in total from the start of the download to me playing with the newly installed iOS7.

Did the iPad a few days later and it was about 15mins from the download starting to the update being fully installed.

Likewise I had issues on the initial release date, but download was fine and installation easy once done. I'm not 100% sure about it though. There are no issues, it works like a dream and the control panel means I don't have to unlock the screen to activate do not disturb or wifi etc. That's useful, but I can't help thinking that it looks a bit cartoony. Hey ho, that's just the look. Performance is good and that's key :)

Anyone with iOS7, version 7.02 is not available to download/instal to squish a few bugs (~22Mb if updating from your device)

And as there are a lot of computer experts and iPad fans frequenting this site and as I cannot get any help from anyone else, including Apple support:

I have just got my first iPad..an iPad4 now running IOS7.

I am having a problem with autofill. Despite all the Contact Info, My Info, Passwords and Autofill settings in Safari being OFF my sign-in e-mail to Facebook is still being displayed immediately I click on the App. I delete it but it reappears.

I do not want this so is there a way of removing it and a simple fix for this so it doesn't reappear?

Thank you.

I don't use FB so can't be specific. Are there any settings in the FB settings on your ipad about storing login details?

If not try deleting the cookies in the Safari settings.

Someone else with the FB app might be able to help more.

Have you tried deleting the log-on details via Settings>Facebook?

FaceBook (along with Twitter, Flickr & Vimeo) are now fairly well integrated into iOS.

As we're talking problems... I recently bought pages and numbers for my ipad. Pages also loaded into my ipad mini, but numbers hasn't, though it hangs there. Any ideas why? Also, I thought any data input should sync across both bits of kit, but again, this hasn't happened. What am I doing wrong?

Mmm, not sure on this one. You're accessing FB through safari? I do sometimes, rather than use the app, and historically, FB has always kept me logged in so can't see the email and login details displayed as it just keeps me logged in. You may need to adjust some setting in FB settings whilst open in safari, as adjusting the app settings won't really affect how a browser operates, I think.

I only recently discovered that Safari has auto fill and can store passwords, so have been using this as I like the facility, and keep my iPad secure with a decent password. I know such a facility is not to everyone's taste.

Back to mine. I am using the Facebook app. If I go to Settings/Facebook....the settings show no user name!! However the app is obviously retaining the information somewhere.

All I have done is download the app from the store and accessed Facebook once.

If I delete history and cookies it makes no difference. The sign in appears.

My solution would seem to be to remove the Facebook app and simply access Facebook via the browser, with the browser settings re log-ins and passwords set to OFF.

First impressions...I should have stuck to Android! :(

I like the new update. It's refreshing and almost like using a new phone. It keeps it interesting rather than the same old software. I just don't like the new calendar but I'm sure I'll get used to it.

As for staying with Android - I'm sure this isn't perfect and will have its teething problems. I'm an Apple fan and after using my other halfs Android for a while I hated it. Each to their own.

If you load up the app, is there a setting where you can disable "Keep me signed in" or similar?

Just for the record, I have a iPad 3 and it's been pretty good. Just the occasional judder especially when an app has started. It was severe after I updated, but cleared by powering off and restarting.

Re facebook, I don't facebook, but as others have said, check the settings / facebook page and remove the account if one is entered. That said I wouldn't put it past facebook to handle remembering logins in a different way...

To sync, go into settings, then iCloud and make sure you have set up iCloud with your Apple ID. And make sure documents is turned ON.
Then go to the settings page for pages, and make sure iCloud is turned on here aswell. Probably the same for numbers.

If numbers is stuck loading, uninstall it, power off, power on, then reinstall. (You won't have to pay again)

Thanks scnickr.

I would guess that setting would be within Facebook. However it is not actually keeping me signed in...I still have to put in my password. What it is doing is automatically showing my log-in e-mail and I don't want it to do that.

Apple support acknowledge the issue and have no solution. This might indeed be a Facebook app thing but it is up to Apple to determine the parameters within which iPad specific apps are created.

I know that this might be sacrilege here but, although I do like the ipad 4, it seems a nice piece of kit if somewhat over priced, this inflexibility (here is your default and NO, you cannot change it) puts me off the whole Apple experience. :(

I am getting that "bring on the new Nexus 10" feeling!! ):

While IOS7 has upgraded all my devices beautifully, and I like the look and feel and features, I'm fuming with Apple for screwing up the podcast manager in iTunes.

I've always had the "sign in" issue with Facebook even on earlier versions of iOS.

I think it's "worse" since FB is integrated with the iOS.

Then it really is time it was fixed by Apple or Facebook.

At least there is a solution....get rid of the app and just go to Facebook via the browser. y)

I agree.
And why, when listening to a podcast, does clicking on a Safari page mute the sound? Grrrr.
