OH has enough Avios to get us to Bermuda next summer , anyone been ?
Would you recommend it. we can get 3 seats in EC for £900 or PE for alittlemore £££ ):
Hotels seem pricey but have found a reasonable apartment on the south coast.

Any recommendations or advice greatly appreciated :) it will be in August which I know is hurricaine season but have been reliably informed that Bermuda is less likely to be affected by them ???

Thanks

I *almost* went with work (an urgent issue occurred requiring instant travel), but colleague got the nod. Was annoying given he got a weekend off over there on the company.

The report was it was reassuringly expensive by UK/US standards to eat/drink, as in on par with high-end New York in places (think $75-100 mins for food alone per heat in some places) but bad places didn't seem to exist from his point of view. There were cheaper places, but it definitely from his point of view had a high end feel. I can email to try to get some recommendations from some of the guys we have in our offices out there though if you are interested in a local's view as we still keep in touch - but it will be likely next week until get a reply, as I'm out of office for next few days.

I really liked Bermuda - been there three times - twice staying with (different) friends - once in the Princess Hotel
Depends what you like - but if 'old' england with more sun does it for you, you'll like it

Thank you both, it does appeal to me. The weather, but also the feel of the place and the amazing beaches. Also a bit of a bargain using Avios :)Somehow not as excited about this one as our last trip, lol !
Will hopefully book soon !

Went there for a friend's wedding about 18 months ago.

Wasn't that impressed, if I'm honest - but it's different and probably worth seeing - once!

Definitely old England including some locals with an attitude thrown in.

Bit "small town" if you know what I mean, and seems very "tight knit" in terms of cliques of people who seem to know everything about everyone else's life.

It's an interesting enough place to visit, but I won't be hurrying back.
