Well, I am delighted to have found a forum like this but sadly it is a few years too late.
From 2001 to 2012, I was a weekly traveller in the UK I flew Prestwick > Stansted with Ryanscare
Glasgow > Luton/Stansted (then Gatwick too) with Queasyjet
Go airlines (who remembers them they were brilliant!) to Stansted
Air Berlin (still recall the hot Bacon rolls at Breakfast time) to Stansted.

Every week for all those years, with a few AirUK, BA and BMi thrown in for good measure.

I became expert in negotiating my way to the gate door before the maddening hoard's, we formed "gangs" and got to know the staff and especially the dispatchers, in the days before speedy boarding, so that we could nab 1ABC and 15/16 ABD EFG on the 737/400's etc

It was a very infuriating sight when we saw a bus waiting at the bottom of the air bridge steps to take us to the plane as hours of careful planning went to nought!

Well, thanks mainly to the recession, all that stopped and I now work in Scotland almost exclusively, but there are times, I miss those adventures for a quid!

Welcome!

Go were great weren't they?

I remember Ryanair starting flights from PIK to a fairly deserted Stansted!

Free train tickets from anywhere in Scotland to PIK and the Stansted Express - manky even then - was £7 return!
