Using return ticket over two holidays.

Hi. We wondering about taking 2 transatlantic cruises next year, an Eastbound in May and a Westbound maybe in October. As they come within the 6 month return ticket, is it ok to book a return and use it for the 2 different trips? It sounds completely fine, but I am wondering about the fact that with first eastbound cruise you have officially returned to the UK and then gone back in to the USA again. Is this a problem? I am having difficulty trying to explain what I mean here, sorry ?| .

Are you talking about say taking a westbound flight out and eastbound cruise return then later westbound cruise and return flight, therefore thinking a return flight booked will allow you to use each sector for the flights on your 2 trips rather than booking 2 single sector, and more expensive, flights?

Not that I know the answer to your conundrum, I'm just trying to clarify and understand it :D

Yep absolutely fine.

It doesn't matter that you would have returned to the UK and then left again in the period between the two legs of your flight.

I would say in theory it's absolutely fine, and from a ticketing point of view it's no problem whatsoever.

The only potential problem is if US immigration, for some reason, can't reconcile the flights and the cruises and their system thinks because you haven't used the return portion of the flight, you must still be in the US.

It shouldn't happen but if it does, you could be pulled aside for questioning when you next re-enter the US which, while shouldn't pose a problem, won't be pleasant.

Like I say, it shouldn't happen, but it's a possibility.

Yes, got it in one!! I am not the best as describing what I want to say sadly. Always a bit of a problem for me.

Thank you nkp85uk and gumshoe for your help. With the cost of one way flights it all seems a good option to be able to use a return ticket. Plus I get 2 cruises :D :D .
