Using infant child seat on a flight

Has anyone had any experience of booking an Easyjet flight seat for a 7month old infant and using their car seat. Appreciate will only be used during the flight and not during take off or landing.

Have checked the Easyjet website which states:
"The car seat must be:

able to fit in the 42cm space between the arm rests on the aircraft seats upright and forward facing (rear-facing car seats cannot be accepted as only very few of these types of car seat are ‘approved for aircraft use’ in Europe). "

Also called customer service who just repeat the above.

Have seen Maxi Cosi do 2 seats which are airline approved, but both of these are rear facing and the bucket style seat, so dont meet the above criteria, they even have instructions on how to fit to an airline seat. although a 7month old should only be in the type of seat though.

Any one done this? Recommend any car seats that can be used? Any information would be appreciated

No, but do you really need one as with EasyJet you're likely to be short-haul so only a couple of hours?

Every time we've flown with our youngsters we've kept the baby (as young as 11 weeks) on our lap, on long-haul he's slept in the bassinet (not available on EasyJet) but holding him when awake. We've never purchased a seat for <2 year old. In fact we've never taken anything to the gate with us, we always check the buggy and car seat in the hold.

Its just over 4 hour flight there and just under 5hours coming back, Turkey. Agree for a 2hour flight wouldnt bother but given its longer and we have a very active 2.5year old as well the option to lay the baby down rather than being held for the whole flight would be helpful.

Reading another section of Easyjet's website, they do allow rear facing seats to be used when the seatbelt sign is turned off.

So seems have found the answer to my question.

Ah yes, the 2.5 year old changes the dynamic slightly! At least it's a single aisle plane so they can't run away.
