I thought I would give an insight to something I had not used or experienced. I traveled from St. Helens in the North West down to Gatwick which took me a good 3 hrs and 50 mins.
I reserve red Valet parking in the red car park and checked into the Hilton and was told I had been upgraded to the 4th floor and had access to the executive lounge. Whoopee for me I thought :D . This included a 1800-2100 free bar so to speak y) y) y) .

Some canapés thrown in for good measure , we'll a few starters like veg somases and BBQ chicken etc

I have to admit being a gold hilton member I was impressed well I am sure anyone would be with free beer for 3 hours in a hotel bar oo) .

Anyway off to bed after a nice fill ready for my brekkie in the Gatwick clubhouse before 14 days in the sun in Antigua and Jamaica night night peeps :P

Glad that you made the most of the Exec Lounge. I have found the offerings variable , reheated samosas seem to be a staple in Hiltons these days, must be able to buy in bulk? :?
Sad as it may seem but my recommendation would be, if time allows, have your juice and fruit at the Hilton then walk over and enjoy a "proper" breakfast in the Clubhouse in the knowledge that you have started the day with at least a couple of the "five a day". y)

Not as in bulk as the eggs at breakfast, which have a suspiciously standard quality whenever and wherever I have had them over the past 7 years of weekly Hilton stays.

For me the best Hilton Executive lounge food (in the UK, we'll leave Rome out of this) is at the London Tower Bridge property. Somosas do feature, but so do a lot of other tasty morsels. Here at Islington they have started serving up quite tasty mini steak pies as part of the Executive lounge offering.

@jfenney - have a great time in the CH,on the flight and in the Caribbean...

No problem Buns

I arrived at 3pm and the lounge is open already be it for non alcoholic drinks and some tit bits of food .

As I said earlier the canapés and drink are on offer between 6-9 but the lounge is open until 11 pm. I am also returning in April with two teenagers and asked the staff would I be able to bring them in too and they said no problem but to be aware of no alcohol for them .

The room was great aired and comfy bed :D

We stayed at the Gatwick Hilton before our trip to Cancun last November and were also upgraded to the executive floor with lounge access. It was a really relaxing way to start the holiday so much so we will book again for our trip to St Lucia in May.

It can also be a bargain if you have Hhonors points, as I got my night in August for 30K points.

We have enough points to book the free night so will probably do that. Thanks.
