Qatar and short connection time

We are flying to Ho Chi Minh City next week with Qatar ( Business) and only have a 70 minute connection at Doha. Given the scenic tour of Doha airport - at night - that always follows a flight, and then another scenic tour to get to the aircraft, is this likely to be long enough?

The flight was booked for us by Cunard so we had no say in the matter. Starting to panic now, especially regarding baggage, as we will have a LOT of expensive cruising clothes with us, that I would really rather didn't go astray!

I would say that 70 mins is more than enough. When landing last time in Doha from QR we had a 6 hr wait! But on landing they played a video outlining the connection process. But basically at check in presumably at LHR they will give you both of your boarding passes with a sticker saying short-transit or something along those lines. When you arrive in Doha you will get precedence/speedy security .etc. Also they state that 45 mins is the minimum transit time for your bags to be transferred and for you to make it to the gate of your connecting flight.

From my experience (even though we had a 6hr layover) even with the scenic route to the terminal you will be through within 30mins at absolute worst.

I've made it through to a connecting flight at Doha with about an hour connecting time. Like flyerz said, there's a priority line for short connections. Bag made it to final destination as well so I think they have a smooth transit process.

Thanks very much for the reassurance, it sounds as though we should be ok as long as we don't dawdle. I'll practise my sprinting :D

Just to update this. We were 90 mins late leaving LHR, but we made up a little time - about 45mins I seem to remember - and ALL the onward flights were held at Doha, so we all made the connections, eventually leaving about an hour late.

We found Qatar to be very impressive and the lounge at T4 was really exceptionally good.

That's excellent news. Just proves that they're efficient and doing their best to be a good hub. To be a bit cheeky however, considering an earlier thread about working conditions over there, the airport and airline staff will probably have hell to pay if things go wrong.
