Having a priority pass with my bank and getting 4 free lounge visits I am going to Dublin this month what are everybody's lounge preference for both Manchester terminal 1 and Dublin terminal 2

I can't talk about Manchester but the Priority Pass lounge in T2 is only adequate. It is light and airy and near the gates but it is small enough and can get busy. When I arrived there for my EK flight, the place was crowded but the announcement of the Delta flight soon resolved that.

It is self-service with fruit and cereal available in the morning but the choices are not great. I had to ask for the coffee machine to be emptied and later on, when helping myself to cheese and biscuits, I had to ask for a knife and wait for it to come out of the dishwasher. There is a self-service bar. Poke around for the white wine; it's in an under-the-counter fridge. Champagne is available but at €15 a pop, which annoyed me greatly knowing I could have been quaffing it for free in LHR!!

Quite frankly, I would have enjoyed myself more in the main terminal where there are better facilities, albeit at a price.

If you are on EI you can pay for their lounge at T2 which I think is lovely. Save your pass for another time!

Yes Billy I am on EI , cheers for that , but I don't think I will get the chance to use all the free lounge visits so might as well use them

Sadly the Priority Pass is not worth the plastic it is printed on at Manchester, only once this year have I been able to use the lounges when traveling cattle class and offering the PP card. I have taken the matter up twice with PP and all they say say is they are aware of the problem. They do offer this advice on their website "PLEASE NOTE: Some of the Manchester UK lounges are currently having some capacity issues and we therefore apologise for any inconvenience this may cause. There are a selection of lounges to choose from in both terminals."

Www have used the MAN T 1 PP lounge and thought it fine. Clean and spacious with a good selection of food/ drink.

I saw the "capacity issue" at Terminal 1 the last time we were there. I thought it might have been because we were flying high-season at end of August.

Both lounges had full signs up (Escape and Aspire?), we stood at the Aspire one, and they said "Ok, we'll let you in, just because someone has just left. There are people waiting downstairs". We have the full PP card, not paid or vouchers. I suspect that was the reason why we actually got in.

Inside it wasn't busy. Not in the slightest. Ok, slightly busier than before I'd been in there. Maybe 30 people there total. Plenty seats, plenty space. No queues anywhere.

I did wonder if that was capacity, what the hell were they thinking?

I suspect there must be a regulation problem or something. Or license. Not sure, but it wasn't anywhere near busy.

Maybe they have quotas for PP?

I think when it comes to third party lounges, PP comes pretty much at the bottom of the list of who's allowed in. Their main aim these days seems to be to sell as many pay-as-you-enters as possible. Sadly the lounge operators have cottoned on to the fact there's good money to be made from holidaymakers and stag & hen parties who want to neck as much "free" beer or cheap bubbly as possible before their flight. I've always liked the Escape lounge at MAN T3 but when I was last in there a couple of Sundays ago it felt more like a Wetherspoons on a Saturday night until the Benidorm flight was called.

Having said that, the new United lounge at LHR T2 is amazing for a PP lounge. And the Plaza Premium one has got good initial reviews.

There is exactly the same problem at BRS (Aspire Lounge) - Mr DL both have the " full unlimited access with free additional guest " PP card but have been denied access several times (because it was "full"). I've simply waited at the desk until someone has left on both occasions and then requested entry- the lounge angels seem worried that their other (fee paying) guests won't be able to enter and are not bothered about PP guests -neither are PP themselves ! ).
Another traveller was having the same problem as us on our last visit and commented acerbically to the desk staff that it had become a " bar" as opposed to a "lounge".
One visit last year involved the police being called to the lounge because of the drunken behaviour of some guests ( who were hell bent on drinking their entry fee before they left for their flights).
