V-Flyer

Assuming that most people on this forum travel a lot for work - especially internationally between the UK and other countries (especially the USA) - what exactly do you do? What industry are you working in?

Consulting is an obvious answer (I used to be in that world as well). But does anyone do anything truly fascinating?

I am a Cinematographer in Movies so travel is a must.
My job is a little more than fascinating, it is truly Wonderful. I have more than earned my role in life.

Nylon - from the other thread, it sounds like you're in classical music? Do you write/compose your own work, or play for other artists? Care to share any of your work?

I was second unit camera on Schindlers List, again on Titanic the newest version with Di Caprio and Kate Winslet, there were many but then I went on to making documentarys, that was always my passion. I really should think of retiring, it has been a Wonderful life, I suppose I will when I find it gets harder.
I started life with Granada Television and have worked for all the major broadcasters worldwide. Travelling is, as you must know default and in my life I have travelled to every country on the planet, best of all I have met some very interesting people. I just wish years ago we had more comfort in travelling as we have today.

Don't know, but I got the impression it's a fairly even mix of those who travel for work no those who don't! i fall into the latter....

Thanks for sharing. Sounds like you've had an amazingly interesting life, and I'm a fan of both of those films (from a stylistic/visual perspective especially).

Blimey DL, what a good memory you have ii) I still fall into the latter category though!

I am the Station Manager for a major London railway terminal...sadly the most exotic places I visit for work seem to be York, Croydon or Gatwick (station not airport I hasten to add!!)

I used to work in the aeromedical field but these days I am just a jobbing GP, so the only travel I get to do is bumbling around Devon country lanes doing home visits.

Still there are worse things in life
