Obligatory wave from United Lounge T2B

And what a lounge it is. It's no Clubhouse, but it's a pretty comfortable place, calm (it's not too busy), and I'm settled in with obligatory glass of champoo. Hubby went looking for food and came back with a plate of chicken curry and roast spuds!

Journey down nice and smooth, although I remembered that our railcard expires before we get back so won't be valid for our return journey. Renewed online but obvs. won't have card. Turns out that won't do and we might have to buy new tickets but VTEC said to see on the day and if the train guard makes us buy new tickets we can get them refunded later since we have a valid card just not with us!

We decided not to use undergound between Kings Cross and Paddington this time, I hate lugging case up and down stairs / escalators, so we opted to use Uber, which I've just recently signed up to. All nice and easy. T2 is really nice, very impressive, lots of natural light.

Feeling a bit peckish myself now...

Waves back from a cold and windy Cornwall.

Curry and spuds, that sounds delicious on a day like this.

Have a great flight.

Nice in there isn't it! Good food and an excellent bar. Amazing that it's a PP lounge - what a difference compared to Servisair!

It certainly is very nice, still very quiet and calm. Food is excellent I must say, and it's pretty warm here in London Marshy.

I'm a but stuffed so I've stopped because the on board offering looks like a feast!

The thing I remember about this Lounge was having to queue for the male toilets :0 It was a busy Sunday morning, but otherwise a nice way to spend a little time

Safe travels

I love the lounge there. I am through there quite a bit as United 1K. I know it is too late now, but the espresso martini is worth a try. They took it off the menu but will still make one. Hope you get to eat a ton of sushi in Japan ! Jiro Dreams of Sushi is compulsory viewing if you do like sushi !

ANA flight excellent but will tell more in TR which I might get done on my long train journey to Hiroshima on Monday, but all good.

Thanks for the lounge feedback Bretty and good to hear it was a good flight over. Have a great trip!

By the way, we arrived at the lounge around 3pm with no problems and our boarding gate was in the T2B area so no long walk!

Thanks for letting me know, I am glad there is no lengthy walk back to the main terminal after I have had a few sherbets in the lounge!! I am certainly hoping to ask for a Mocha Martini, coffee and a Martini in one glass- genius! I am hoping I will sober up at the same time I drink :)

We have a complimentary late check out of the hotel at 4pm but will leave for an early lounge entry and a cocktail-fest in the United lounge. Bring it on!

Can you tell I m a bit over- excited today?!

Ah yes, soggy tempura, from a restaurant specialising in tempura!! :0 The rest of my meal was good (rice, pickles and sashimi, you can't get that wrong), but my hubby's was way bad, the worst he's had in Japan, v( but it's hard to complain, 1. because they're not a confrontational society, 2. because I don't speak enough lingo to know how! So last night we had 'meh' food for £40 and night before great food for less than £20. Go figure!

Anyway, this morning (for it is 7am here) we're travelling all day down to Hiroshima and the island paradise of Miyajima. And I'll write that TR.

Sorry to resurrect such an old topic, but it's sort-of relevant...
Has anybody had the opportunity to compare LHR T2 lounges at all? We're flying out form there in September and see we will have a choice of United, Singapore, Air Canada, Lufthansa - anyone had the chance to do a lounge hop or shall the investigation be down to us in September?

Thanks in advance

Cheers! Nick

I believe Air Canada lounges have a poor reputation and I think you might find reviews of the United, Singapore and Lufthansa T2 lounges by Raffles on Head for Points if you search.

I am sitting in the United lounge now and it is excellent. I have only tried the Singapore one once and that was good too. The LH one gets good reviews too. I think, from what I remember, that people seem to rate United as #1, LH a close #2, Singapore as #3 but that it can get rather crowded in the Singapore one.
