Can anyone help on BA Amex and insurance?

Just reaching out for anyone who might know the answer to this or can point me in the right direction which would save me needing to research online (which is not one of my strengths!).

I purchased hotel accommodation as well as reward flights through BA direct using their Amex premium card for payment.

Whilst I have family travel insurance (which is why I never researched Amex coverage and wouldn't know where to start), this will not cover a friend that is coming along with us.

My question is - by using the Amex card, do I automatically get any form of insurance for our friend by virtue of using the card for payment?

Any help/pointers would be very much appreciated.

You don't get any real travel insurance on the standard BA AmEx, so your friend will need to have some sort of other travel insurance product.

If you have the BA Premium Plus credit card (With the £150 fee) that offers some basic travel insurance coverage, but I would still personally want a stand alone product too.

Neil - wow that was quick!

Really appreciate that, I had a feeling that might be the case.

Thanks again,
