It's so terribly sad, the lengths some people will go to to try and get a better life. I can't imagine that they had any idea what kind of temperatures they would be exposed to.
It certainly puts our grumbles about the UCDS into perspective.
As a side note, JNB-LHR 8000 miles?!
The Guardian haven't been recruiting from the Daily Mail have they?

They all seem to be copying each other - 8,000 miles is on pretty much every report!

I think they've plugged "JNB" and "LHR" into Google Maps and worked out how far it would be to
drive not fly!
