Our 16yr old is off to visit our friends in Berlin and I want to send him with a bottle of Cornwall's finest sparkling wine (can thoroughly recommend Camel Valley to all champagne drinkers  ). Will the bottle in the checked luggage be an issue? He's flying up from Newquay to Gatwick with Flybe and then onto Berlin with Easyjet.

In answer to my own question https://germany.visahq.com/customs/ seems he needs to be 17. He is just a few weeks off that, so I guess we'll have to drink it at home.

Do not do this.

He needs to be able to answer truthfully the 'did you pack your bags yourself' and the 'has anyone given you anything to carry' questions.

He could still be stopped at customs on arrival into Germany too get into trouble there as well.
