Hi guys and gals,

Our good friends are planning a week in New York before Christmas and are trying to find a good Father Christmas to visit with their 7 year old son.

Has anyone any experience in this or could offer any suggestions?

Macys or Bloomingdales?
Dont forget to get the discount card for out of towners. 7th floor in for Maceys & on the Mezzanine for Bloomingdale

The shop windows at Macy's are fascinating too, very large mechanical models and scenes, well worth a look

The visitor centre at Macy's 34th Street/Herald Square is on the mezzanine above the perfume floor (the 1st or what we would call the ground floor!) and not the 7th floor.There is a Starbucks on the same level. They have a machine that scans your passport and prints one out for you.

this has some good advice for seeing the Macy's Santa.

I got them mixed around about location then. As you say, there is scanning machines that scan your passport.
Just had a flashback of going up a load of levels looking for them, then being sent back down!
