Has anybody been to St Augustine, just up the East Coast of Florida? We like to explore off the beaten track and see somewhere new each time we go to Florida. I was just wondering if anyone would recommend this place and tips for things to see/do/eat (yes, I am obsessed with food!). It is rumoured to be the oldest city in America though I'm not sure what that's based on. I was more interested in the idea of swimming with manatees for free (i.e. no Discovery Cove-style massive mark-up!) some place close to here.
Cheers,
Jacq

I visited it briefly just after Christmas one year. It was late in the evening and the Million Lights were on. It was simply beautiful with all the white lights.
One of my staff is from there and she got married on the beach at sunset last December. Aaaah!
