V-Flyer

Saw this being mentioned in firstclassflyer , http://www.eosairlines.com/ .

New airline that plans to fly between London Stansted and JFK in a business class only configuration with lieflat seats. 48 Seats in a 757!

It is quite interesting, since Stansted is perfect if you are going to the City and never need to transfer, it also has the advantage over Heathrow of not being terribly overcongested.

I can definitly see large financial customers prefering this if they proove they can keep the timetable. Kind of like a concorde replacement I guess.

Although I'm always sceptical of "another new airline" with a "bold new business model", I do think maybe VS should consider one of their key points on the Experience page, regarding their Business Class product:

"In the end, itÕs the small details that make a big difference."


Having said that, some of the names of their key board members don't bode well for a profitable airline - Execs from Delta, US Air and Northwest... [:0]

Can't really see the massive benefit they will have over flying VS, BA or any of the other Transatlantic carriers. They all get you from NY to London in a business / first class cabin - no real time difference.

Also in the press-release they are "to launch round-trip service from New York to London in Q3 of this year." With no schedule, booking information, service details etc I think they missed that one. Oh and they are still advertising for pilots, crew and technicians. Next year maybe - well thats if they don't join the club of US airlines filling for Chapter 11 that is.

Unless the become affiliated to one of the major programmes or form their own alliances, I can't see a lot of senior exec's flying it with no miles earning capabilities, except on EOS I imagine. Maybe the so called "Captains of Industry" might be tempted by the supposed convenience but... well time will tell.

kind of reminds me of privatair,the airline that flies from Newark to Dusseldorf in an all J config,if the price and service are right they may stand a chance.

Yes, very similar in my mind to Privatair - which has also started a HOU-AMS service badged for KLM...

I'm sure existing FC, Exec club members certainly won't want to switch just for the convenience of flying out of STD. Anyway, no UCS;)

I don't know about that,if that was true LH/KLM wouldn't use privatair in the first place,they would just use their own metal.When you reach a certain point in the biz world FF miles etc just don't come into it,what you are looking for is service,what these small "airlines" do is offer service that is second to none.Let's face it,the people that take these flight's could hop into a G and fly over the pond.
At that point UCS or not 99% of these pax will never be found on VS,BA first maybe,but the BS you have to go through at LHR,plus the other problems you can have with a big airline can be to much of a headache.

Just as an interesting thing,maybe Randolph Fields was a little ahead of his time?

Well thats not going to win them the war..sorry but they need to match BA/VS z type prices if they are going to win pax..though I do like the look of the seat,kind of if the UCS and CW seat had a kid..

I saw the first actual picture of the airline at JFK, but unfortunatley I cannot remember exactly where. I must say, after rethinking this, I would probably prefer the atmosphere advertised. No babies, comfy seats, sounds good to me!
