Looking to go to the Caribbean next year for a relaxing beach holiday with the family (2 kids aged 15 and 10 years). Out of all the Virgin Carribean destinations, can anyone recommend which is best for a family holiday[?][?][?]

Thanks

Overall Barbados wins for me. Beautiful beaches, a good choice of hotels, lots of activities to do all over the island and much more. Every island has something to make it unique. Barbados has everything apart from lush forrest so I would say that's best for a family hol, HTH.

Cheers.

Barbados 1st; St Lucia 2nd.
Look at the forums on TripAdvisor.com to find excellent hotels suited for families such as yours. I will let you know about Coconut Bay & Spa in St. Lucia when I return after Xmas.
If you choose Barbados be sure to take Mrs GreboDB to The Cliff Restaurant.

I would reverse that and say #1 St Lucia and #2 Barbados, though with kid's in tow maybe not, either way a great place to have your holidays.

Barbados and Antigua were top of my own list so given the replies so far will probably go for Barbados. Now to find cheap flights and somewhere to stay:D

Thanks All

Had a look for car hire in Barbados and none of the mainstream companies that I would expect seem to offer cars there (e.g Hertz, Avis). Anyody know a decent car hire company in Barbados??

Thanks

Barbados, St Lucia or Antigua - decisions, decisions...

You should have a good time on any of the above islands. We have stayed on Barbados and St Lucia and enjoyed them both (The Cliff is well worth a visit as has been mentioned).

'Fraid I disagree with Paul (p17blo), we really enjoyed St Lucia on the occasions we have been there, I guess this is partly because it was the first Caribbean island we ever visited (they say the first time is always special ;))

We have stayed at Sandals Halcyon and The Rendevous (both couples only so not much help with a family trip - sorry). We also visited a number of other resorts and hotels looking for new places to stay & eat on our next visit. We found the people generous and friendly, it is a poor island but they do try hard to make you feel welcome, IMHO.
